Fruits of Friendship with God

Our school values are known by Christians as the ‘Fruit of the Spirit’ and are particularly remembered when people think of ‘God in Action’. Christians believe it is God in action in their lives which helps them to produce these fruits.

You cannot tell what is going on inside a tree. It may look as if nothing is happening inside the leaves and trunk but really there is a lot of action going on. The result of all that action is fruit. Fruit is the result you can see of the inner life of the tree.

The inner life of a person can result in good fruit or actions like love, kindness and loyalty.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such there is no law.
Galatians 5:22-23

These Christian values are regularly discussed and explored with the children and we recently created a ‘Fruits of the Spirit’ tree as part of Collective Worship. These values underpin our work in school, as learners and as educators. We have prayers for each value that we also use in collective worship. You can see these by clicking on the boxes below.
