Wow! What a week of learning we had in Class 1. We have been extremely busy learning lots of exciting things about the beautiful country of Australia. We learnt about the Australian flag and made some flags for our display. We also learnt about the indigenous people of Australia and some of the tools they used and still use today like the Boomerang. In maths we learnt about 3D shape nets and then made our own little rectangular prism suitcases for our display. In literacy we focused on writing postcards to our friends while we were holidaying in sunny Australia. During music we learnt a new song ‘Home Among the Gumtress’ which you can watch below. Finally we got to skype Mr Rojas parents and interview them about their lives in Australia, we even met their dog Mikey! We all really enjoyed International Week 2013.
Congratulations Class 1 on your knowledge of Australia. Well done. Mr & Mrs Rojas from Australia
Well done class one, so many interesting facts about Australia. I never knew you could ski in Australia. Thanks for all your hard work.
Thank you for sharing what you have learnt about Australia. I liked the way you interviewed Mr Rojas’ parents in Australia to find out more information! You all look very smart in your International outfits. From Mrs Scott
