Arithmetic – Subtraction
Below is an outline of how to develop skills in subtracting.
- Subtract 1-digit numbers from 2-digit numbers using missing numbers, e.g. 21 – __ = 15
- Subtract 10 from any 2-digit number using missing numbers, e.g. __ – 10 = 33
- Subtract multiples of 10 from any 2-digit number, e.g. 43 – 20 = 23 and 43 – 30 = 13
- Subtract two 2-digit numbers by counting on from the smallest number to the biggest number, e.g. 43 – 29 = 14
- Subtract two 1-digit numbers from a 2-digit number, e.g. 43 – 7 – 5 = 31
The tests will be on Friday 22nd April.
