Today, we all went to the BFI like we normally do every Thursday. We went into the Learning Space room and talked about what we were going to do. Then we decided to film the start of our film. So, we got Nancy to film our first scene. Then we came into the ’50 seater’ cinema and sat down. We had shots of us showing different emotions, such as: frightened, laughing and astonishing.

We then filmed some of us talking in pairs. After that we filmed the ending of the film. It showed us all clapping and smiling.
Then we went upstairs to eat our lunch. Me and my friends all played games and told each other jokes. It was really fun. Next, group 1 went to go and record their part of the film.

Then Miss Deacon read us a story and it was about a boy who really wanted a balaclava. It tied in with our literacy topic of Issues and dilemmas. Then we recorded our voice-overs with Doreen.

Class 4 went to the BFI today to learn how to make our own movies.  My movie was called the trip to the moon. In making the movie we used a green screen and our props we made at school.

We changed into our movie clothes. The camera was ready for us to film.

I played the part of the moon and my hands were covered in green blanket.  After my part it was my turn to video my team. I played a part of a man fighting a monkey.

My team pretended to beat the monkey with an umbrella, and then l had to run out from the stage.

After that we went back to school.

Today we went to the BFI because group one needed to perform there film. When we were there. We said good morning to Sam and Doreen. Then we went to the learning space room 1. Next, Sam told us that we were about to go to the film room where the film was going to be shown.

Once, we were comfortable Sam said that we could film us coming into the room and out. We also filmed us looking scared and laughing. Sam also filmed people talking about the film.

Then we went back to the learning space room to get our pack lunches. After, we ate we had to go and do our “voice over scripts” Each group did it. However, the time came when the other group came back. So we said goodbye to Sam and Doreen and then we had to go to school again. I enjoyed today. It was brilliant!
