THE SHARD!

Years 4, 5 and 6 went to The Shard today!

Many of the class could see their homes, and we saw the infants spelling out ‘Hi!’ to us from the playground. Here are some of our excellent pictures, in 3 categories!

Pictures of us, the architecture and our local area:

How many famous landmarks can you see?

What a wonderful trip! Can anybody put our experience into words?

All the houses and cars looked liked minuscule toys! It was absolutely awesome going up the shard!!!!
We looked out for Buckingham palace, our houses and school. We even managed to see the infants waving at us!

Today we went up the immense, colossal Shard! When you’re downstairs, it looks slim and diminutive at the top. Then, when you’re up it’s … immense! In the lift your ears pop (so hold your ears or, the best solution is to keep your mouth open). You have to take two (not so big) lifts to the 33rd floor first, then take another lift to the the 68th floor. I believe there are a few more floors too. You can also go up to the 72nd floor but we didn’t get a chance to go up there. I think if you ever have the chance to visit the Shard, you should. The views are fantastic!

It was really fun I enjoyed it. I could see the Olympic Park from the Shard!
And I could see our school from the Shard (the infants and year 3 wrote a sign saying’Hi’).
We all saw it, I thought it was very cute. Thank you Mrs.Scott for letting us go there, what an amazing opportunity.

I think this was my favourite ever school trip!

Has anyone got any imaginative figurative phrases to describe the feeling or the views?

The scariest but most fun trip ever, I wouldn’t mind going again.
