Today, Class 5 participated in Southwark schools tag rugby festival. One of our teams even won their group, and made it through to the quarter finals!
Did you enjoy it?
Why should other people play tag rugby too?
What did you do well?
How did you work collaboratively?
I absolutely loved the tournament and my team learnt what we should do better next time! It was also quite hard, because you’ve got to be very fast and able to grip things, so you can tackle people by tagging them. Our team was very good at passing and running very fast. I think you should play tag rugby too, because you learn a lot of skills and you gain speed. My team worked collaboratively by always passing and we made sure that everyone got the ball. Thank you, Mrs Rees, for organising this trip, and thank you, Miss Fullana, for taking us on it. I really enjoyed it!
Today was the best trip I had been on in Year 5; I know that others enjoyed it as much as I did. My group got through to the quarter-finals, but unfortunately we lost to a school called Charles Dickens.
I did really well on my trip because I believed in myself and I scored by dodging my opponents.
I passed the ball to everyone, we all had good sportsmanship and I thought my team did really well; I knew we could do it!
I thought the tag rugby tournament was a tremendous experience. My team worked collaboratively; with sportsmanship we gained tries. Grabbing the tags proved very difficult, however, when you clasped the tags you got congratulated by the rest of your supportive team. When you scored a try a sigh of relief spread through your body. Whilst you were grasping the ball and sprinting, you could hear your heart pounding in your ears. Your stomach felt like a cacophony of butterflies had emerged from your chest and zoomed around impatiently. It was the best trip in Class 5 by a thousand miles. Thank you Miss Fullana for taking us!
The tag rugby tournament was amazing I enjoyed it a lot, I scored a try in all my matches, I was proud of myself and my whole group. This trip was extraordinary.
Brilliant! Really fun!
I felt proud of Cathedral A!
I felt proud when I was playing; my group were really good at cheering each other on. Timi really helped, because she told us tactics to get tries; Timi always lifted our spirits up. Thankyou everyone who helped with the trip I’m sure everyone in the class enjoyed it. When I was playing I felt excited.
I loved the tag rugby tournament it was so cool and I would love to go again 🙂 thankyou Miss Fullana!
I was bit nervous when we were one the bus (the transport we took to the competion) but I believed that the harder we tried, the more fun we would have. As we walked round the hill in front of the competition grounds, I was amazed to see so many people at one tag-rugby tournament! We started playing…and then I really got into the spirit of things! Working collaboritavely was a crutial part of playing a good game; a good game also involved showing friendly sportsmanship towards our own team and to our opponents. Cheering, passing, trusting and supporting were all parts of working together- all these things were very important to do if we wanted to take part as well as we could. I loved this trip and thank you to all the teachers and parents who organised and helped us to play really well. There wasn’t any reason for me to be nervous after all! Tag-rugby is a sport that some people might enjoy and others might not, but everybody should try playing it at least once.
I enjoyed it, but to start with, the boys on Cathedral Team A were not passing it to the girls; but when they passed it to the girls they saw how good we were. Others should play tag rugby because, it can help your sportsmanship. I scored lots of tries -goals- and, we never lost a group game. We drew the first game; we worked collaboratively by passing it to our team-mates.
The tag rugby tournament was really fun because we tried our hardest. I also thought that we had a lovely team and I’m really pleased that we got up to a high level.
Today I really enjoyed our tag rugby trip, It was a really fun trip my team did really well at tagging our opponents. We all worked collaboratively and never put each other down, we always gave positive comments to boost their confidence, I thought I did really well at spreading out because all of our opponents were on one side so I got wide and scored a lot of tries for my team.
I think playing tag rugby is quite enjoyable the steps are
The Rules
.You have to always pass backwards, but if the ref blows his whistle, you get a free pass.
.Make sure you don’t slam the ball on the line or throw it down, put it down on the line.
.Never run past the side-line otherwise it will not count and it will be a shame.
You will need;
.Velcro belts
.Two tags each
.A rugby ball
.Cones to mark out the pitch
.Players
.Somewhere to play
THEN LET THE GAME BEGIN!!! 🙂
Thanks for sharing the rules and requirements with everyone Deiago! That was a very informative post indeed.
It was brilliant! We nearly got to the Semi Final!
I am really happy one of our teams qualified and were in the quarter finals, because they deserved it! We all had a lot of fun there; to get in the quarter finals, you needed to be top 2 from 6 different teams. Tag rugby is really fun, I know rugby is a brutal sport, but tag rugby is not at all violent — in fact — if you make contact with someone it is a foul! Thank you to Mrs Rees to have organised the ultra cool trip!
I enjoyed tag-rugby so much because my team all workered collaboratively; even though we didn’t win, it doesn’t matter, because we had such a lot of fun, and it is the taking part that matters the most!
I REALLY enjoyed tag rugby tournament! Cathedral A got into the quarter finals! The whole class were proud of them; we had amazing sportsmanship! Thank you Miss Fullana!
Well done yr 5 you all played well and and extra well done to CATHEDRAL A!!
Today was one of the best trips I’ve EVER been on; my team-Cathedral A- learnt what off-side was (in the referees point of view) and tried not to be off-side and fortunatly we achieved that and scored 4 tries in the first match. Afterwards we heard the results and my team got through to the quarter-finals! Unfortunatly we lost against Charles Dickens. Although we lost, we were very surportive with the other team, I think my team worked collabratively-meaning working well as a team-and we passed the ball to other players on the team and scored each time! We followed the plan we made on what we were going to do to score a try, thankfully it worked and we scored 5 tries in the second game. I think that if you ever play tag rugby always make a plan and you will get a try!
I really enjoyed the tag rugby tournament, it was fantastic! We even came in the quarter finals and that is quite impressive since we only started practising at the end of last month. Our group worked really collaboratively and scored a lot . Well done to Cathedral A for coming first ! Thank you Miss Fullana for taking us to the trip .
Wow all of you must be really proud. But is was shame that you lost to Charles Dickens!
Well done class 5:)
