Many thanks to all the parents who attended Nursery curriculum evening, I hope you found it useful!
We really value your support with name writing. Please encourage your child to write their name independently each morning. You can help by talking about the letter shapes and modelling correct letter formation by tracing letters with your finger. It is a skill your child will practise every day at nursery, so it doesn’t need to be perfect right away (please don’t write it for them)!
Below are some photos from Curriculum Evening showing how everyday experiences could be used to extend your child’s learning in maths and literacy.
Here is a video of some children at Cathedral Primary School saying all 26 single letter sounds correctly:
Please leave a comment to let us know what you’ve been enjoying at home and share your ideas!
Thank you for the informative and well laid out curriculum evening yesterday. We went straight home and put an unloved packet of couscous to good use as a mini-sandpit in a baking tray. We all wrote each others’ names and those of their friends. Thank you again.
Many thanks Miss Dace and Debbie for staying late to teach us parents! It was a very informative session.
Well done Nursery it looks like you’ve learn a lot!
Thank you very much for all your insight and effort at the curriculum evening. We came away with lots of good ideas!
I’m so impressed with Cecilia’s family drawing, so proud of her.
All drawings and paintings are fantastic, well done nursery.
Remy finds it very useful to have a dotted line and trace on top of it! Soon he will be able to do it alone. I like helping him write his name.
