Next half term…

Next half term, some of our learning topics will change. Reception will be looking at:

  • Transport (we will also complete a local walk)
  • Story sequencing in English
  • Matching numerals and quantities in Maths

As mentioned in Parents Evening, please continue to read with your child at least 3 times a week, supporting them with their segmenting and blending in phonics. Do continue to support and encourage them with their writing, ensuring they are holding their pencil correctly and forming letters the right way. Any questions, please ask!

Autumn 1 Week 7

Stars of the Week: Ezra  and Heidi

Reception had a wonderful time taking part in the DT Challenge Days last week. We chose to make ladybirds and frogs, all children carefully designed their product and evaluated it once finished. We hope you enjoyed seeing all our hard work at the exhibition!

Autumn 1 Week 6- Beebots!

Stars of the Week: Ella and Malique

Reception have had another week of working hard! Over the last few days, children have been working with the beebots given to us by London CLC. Children we taught how to give the beebot an instruction, such as forwards, backwards, left and right. They also tried to get the beebot to move to certain places on a treasure map!

Autumn 1 Week 5

Reception are currently learning all about their families, where they live and where they come from. Children have created their own family fact-files this week and have drawn lovely pictures of special events they celebrate with their families. Well done on another great week Reception!

Family Photos

Dear Reception Parents,

Our topic this half term is ‘Me and my Family’ with children thinking about where they live and where people in their family come from. We are currently making a classroom display and would love some family photographs! If you are willing to bring one in, please give it to your child next week, or hand it to me in the morning before school. I will make a photocopy of it then hand you back the original and these photos will remain in Reception only and will only be handled by myself. The photograph could be you and your child, or with cousins, grandparents etc.

Thank you in advance,

Miss St Lewis

Curriculum Evening

Thank you to all the Parents that came along to Reception’s Curriculum Evening earlier this week, I hope that you found it useful. Here is the PowerPoint presentation for you to look at, if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask!
