Observing and identifying the properties of materials

The children in Class 2 have been observing the properties of materials in detail by using magnifying glasses to investigate whether common materials were shiny or dull, flexible or rigid and rough or smooth.

They have also been investigating different properties of everyday materials by identifying whether common materials could be squashed, bent, twisted or stretched.

I like observing materials because they can be different shapes and colours.

I love doing science because you get to do tests and fun things like material tests and I really love doing them.

I love materials especially the fabric because it is soft.
