What helps me with my times tables is the trick for the 9 times tables which I told the class earlier and practice at home or when you have time. If you have a phone you can download apps or go on websites.

A really good link that helped me learn my times tables is on the school blog, our blogs , subject blog , maths blog , times tables. This takes you on to a really good website where it times you to complete your times tables quickly whilst having fun!

Another game that is fun and helpful is fizz fuzz. This is how you play:

Play: Players generally sit in a circle. The player designated to go first says the number “1”, and each player thenceforth counts one number in turn. However, any number divisible by three is replaced by the word fizz and any divisible by five by the word buzz.

    What works for you?
The best way of learning my times tables for me is by making a song in my head that involves me saying all of them up to 12 in a specific time. I learn them all; it is a really fun and quick way to do it!

    What websites do you use?
My number one website that I always you use this: http://www.cathedralprimaryschool.com/ (your class). Yes! It’s our school website! If you want to check your times tables, go on your class blog, yes, it’s that easy!

Which games are the most fun?

For this game you will need a paper with times tables and answers.

    First cut out the paper
At the start of the game, the cards should be shuffled, and distributed evenly to the players.
The players keep their cards face down in a stack.
One by one, they take the top card from their stack, and place it on a pile in the middle.
When the card just placed matches the one before it, the players should call SNAP! and slap their hand on top of the middle pile. The first player to do this gets to keep all the cards in the pile.
Some matches will be easy – for example, if 24 is played on top of 24.
Other matches will require knowledge of times tables – for example, if 7×7 is played on top of 49.
In my opinion, the most interesting matches of all will be when two matching question cards are played, for example if 4×9 is played on top of 12×3.
The winner is the player with the most cards left at the end.

    Which apps. do you use?
    Times Table Mountain
Times Table Mountain provides a fun and engaging way for us to learn our times tables! The app will track children’s progress through all individual facts,  awarding a ‘King the the Mountain’ badge if no mistakes are made, this allows you to see at a glance how at how you’re are progressing. The app also records the time taken to climb a mountain, providing a further challenge as we try to beat our best score and time!Ask your parents first folks !

To help you in the middle of a times table test if you are stuck on one of the questions you can move to the  next question and at the end you can go back and answer it rather than wasting time and by the time you have finished you would have remembered it.

I would learn them by reading times tables and getting apps to learn them like Mathletics since they have times tables questions.

There is a app that is called table blocks, it has numbers on the blocks – answer the question before it hits the bottom or you have to do 5 more at random.

I have got a really good way to learn times tables, when you’re on the bus instead of playing video games, ask your parent to ask you times tables and you have to answer in the quickest time possible – you could do a championship, that would be fun!

My top tip is to get your mum or dad to quick fire random times table questions at you 24/7.
This is a really good mental gym workout and you will find that it will help you improve a lot. If that doesn’t help you, then I suggest you visit the mathletics website where you will find lots of fun times table quizzes. Still no help? Well you could always go and check out the school blog and here is the link:
http://www.cathedralprimaryschool.com/maths/times-tables/. There is also some fun study books out there on times table. Good luck!

What helps me with times tables is practicing all the time because when i couldn’t do my times tables i was encouraged to practice and that is what i did and now i can do all of my times tables. It’s also good to know little tricks that make times tables easier.

What I found helpful was to have a parent or friend have one – on – one lessons with you, so that you have a motivation to do your best but also make your tutor ( the person that is helping you) proud. Then when you know your times tables you can help somebody else.

A really good way to practice your times tables is to ask someone older than you, like your siblings, to ask you random questions and then you answer them as quick as you can.

I find it better when you have flash cards and test when people test me in order and then they challenge me. There is a very good game that I love it. It is called 3 seconds people ask you a times table question and you have 3 seconds to answer and it you do WELLDONE! and if you fail there is a piece of paper with the worst times tables and you have go 30seconds to do all twelve.

Having flashcards really helps and there is this game called 3 seconds and you have to answer a question in 3 seconds; if you fail, you have to fill a sheet of paper with the times tables that you find most hard.

I have got a really good way of learning your 9 times table just like George. My cousin Molly taught me this and during tests it has really helped me learn my 9 times table. Also for the 4 times table you double it (2 times table) and then double it again and that will be the correct answer.

A good way of learning times tables is to go on mathletics, or focus on one each day until you know them all.
