On Tuesday the 13th November Reception class were very excited to host an event at school to celebrate Booktime, which gives away over a million free books each year to children starting primary school. Booktime is about supporting reading for pleasure and is run by independent charity Booktrust and Pearson.
The event included an art session based on one of the stories the children received as well as an opportunity to meet some real life baby rabbits. There was also a story reading session in the school hall with the actress Tamsin Greig which parents attended. The children had a fantastic time and it was great to be part of an event which shares our school aim of encouraging children to read for pleasure and to become confident and independent readers.
You looked you all had a fun time!
