Reptile Life Visit

Today we had a visitor from Reptile Life. He came to tell us all about different animals and tell us lots more about our topic, habitats and adaptations.

He brought loads of different animals with him and told us about classification, kingdoms and adaptations that the animals have which makes them suited to their habitat.

We even got to handle the animals…including Charlotte, a Chilean Rose Tarantula! We also met Dave (a Royal Python), Walter (a Burmese Python), Dexter (a Barn Owl) and loads more!

What did you learn from the session? Which animal was your favourite?

That was so fun! My favourite part was Charllote, the spider because I got to hold her and she was really soft and her hair was ticklish.

We spoke about all of the different classifications and the features that they have. The Tenrec and the Meerkat were really cute (especially the laughing one)!

I really liked seeing the animals, the pthon was 3.4ms long. Charlotte was a tarantula, and could live till they are 15 or 16, and male tarantulas can only live till they are 5 or 6! Thank you Rob and Johnny for letting us hold and stroke the animals!

It’s so amazing seeing all the reptiles and the feeling of them felt really weird . I think that the people who worked there really respected the animals  because they really cared about them a lot.

This was the best experence ever. It was really fun and I would so love to do it again! It would be really funny to watch Roxie the meerkat laugh again. I was a bit scared of big spiders before but now I love them, especially Charlotte the tarantula.

I wonder how heavy the 3.4 meters long python is. It must be a lot because when I held it with 5 of my other class mates I was still aching from the pain.
