We finished our Diwali firework celebration pictures and they went up on display this week. The art looked fantastic and it’s a shame there wasn’t enough room to put all of them up on display! We used a scratching technique to create the fireworks and watercolours for the buildings.
What did you like best about the art we produced?
Welcome back! This week we’ve hit the ground running. We’ve all adapted well to life in Year 4, managing our expectations and ensuring we aim high.
This week, we’ve been taking part in World Faiths Week. Our theme this year was light and how the symbol of light is significant across many religions. We looked at Diwali and Hanukkah and how light is a central theme for both of these celebrations.
We visited Southwark Cathedral and took photos of light throughout the church. We then edited some of these to add effect or to draw focus to the light in the photo.
We hope you like our photos!
So this week is Sports Week at Cathedral School. We have been engaging in all things sport and today, we were very lucky to visit the Mint Street Adventure Playground!
We had a great time on all the equipment and played a range of different games. We made sure that we stayed safe by not rushing and helping each other on the obstacles.
What was your favourite part of the visit to Mint Street?
This week is Road Safety Week and we have been learning how to be safe pedestrians. Since we live is such a busy area, we have been learning how to stay safe when we are out and about on the streets!
We had a visitor to tell us and show us all about road safety. We went out onto the street and learned lots of different ways to stay safe and cross safely!
What did you learn today? What will you make sure that you always do when you’re out and about?
We recently went to London CLC to learn how to animate. Whilst we were there, we looked at lots of different types of animations, including a short film.
Then we set about creating our own! We made all the props ourselves out of paper and had to take a picture each time we moved anything.
We hope you enjoy watching them!
Use this page to post all of your Tudor related facts and information!
To kick off this term’s history topic, we visited Hampton Court Palace to get a taste of Tudor life and even meet some of them!
We got to walk around the gardens, visited Henry in his apartments and even did some cooking in the kitchen!
What was your favourite part?
We have recently been looking at different poems in Class 4. Use this page to post your poem onto the blog.
We will read some of these in the lesson and discuss, happy posting!
