Autumn 1, Week 4

Stars of the Week: Ella and Anxo

Our stars of the week were chosen for their excellent behaviour throughout Collective Worship. Reception are new to Collective Worship this week and these two have always listened to the speaker with rapt attention and sat beautifully. Well done Ella and Anxo!

This week Reception read ‘Tell Me A Dragon’ by Jackie Morris and imagined their own dragons. We have had toy dragons and knights to play with in the classroom.

In Phonics, we have looked at p, i, n and m. Next week we will look at d, g, o, c and k.

Next week we’ll read ‘The Name Jar’ by Xangsook Choi and practice writing our own names and names that we like.

In Religious Education, we have read the parable of The Lost Sheep and decorated our own sheep with glue and cotton wool. See if children can re-tell the story to you over the weekend!

For Mathematics, we’ve looked at counting and letter formation. Children have enjoyed looking at numicon from 1-10 and matching the pieces to the number that they represent.

Next week we will remember our 2D shapes and practice sorting items into difference categories.

Have a lovely weekend!
