Autumn 1, Week 5

Stars of the Week: Erin and Tiwa

Reception have begun our classroom reading groups this week and these children have started on a great foot, with a really positive attitude to reading in school!

This week in phonics, we have learnt d, g, o, c and k.

Next week, we will learn ck, e, r and h.

PE will be on Monday, as usual. The children are getting better and better at getting changed. We would love it if you could practice doing and undoing shirt buttons at home. It’s also great for their fine motor control and finger strength!

It’s best if everyone brings in their clean PE kits on the Monday, and then takes them home that same day.

In Mathematics we have been sorting shapes into different categories. Next week we’ll be comparing amounts. We will use vocabulary like: more than, greater than, less than, fewer than.

Next week, we’ll read ‘From Head to Toe’ by Eric Carle and write labels for different body parts.

Thank you to everyone who has brought in food for our Harvest collection!

Have a wonderful weekend,

Miss Hardy
