Autumn 2, Week 6

Stars of the Week: Ariella A and Nia-Leigh

These girls have been chosen this week for always being so polite and kind. All of the children in Reception are excellent at remembering their manners to say please and thank you and always treating others with kindness, but these two have stood out for their consistency.

We hope you enjoyed our Cathedral service this morning. We’re so please with how all of the children listened and sung. Everyone went all the way up to gold on our return back to the school! Thank you to every one who was able to attend.

This week, we’ve not learned any new phonics sounds. Instead we’ve completed our Little Wandle Phonics Assessments. In January, all children will be put into new reading groups with a different group colour.

In Mathematics, we’ve now looked at both addition and subtraction within 10. Next week, we will try to consolidate our understanding of number bonds to 10. This video helps with this learning: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lD9tjBUiXs0

We look forward to seeing you all next week for our Nativity Play.

Please make sure to bring your child into school at 8:30 on Wednesday 13th December, to give us time to get the children with character roles into costume.

Best wishes,

Miss Hardy
