Today we enjoyed a wonderful Christmas lunch, complete with all the trimmings; sprouts, parsnips, yorkshire pudding etc. Many thanks to our chef Henrietta and her fantastic team for making such a special meal. We also had fun dancing to Christmas music, pulling crackers and sharing funny jokes with friends.
On Monday the Cathedral School Choir performed at The Royal Festival Hall as part of the Southwark Splash Project. It was a fantastic occasion involving hundreds of children from schools across Southwark. We were so proud of our choir who sang so beautifully and with real enthusiasm! Well done!

Well done to Class 5 for leading our Christmas Service at Southwark Cathedral. They were tunefully supported by Year 2,3,4 and 6 who sang songs from Rock Around the Flock.
Foundation Stage and Year 1 treated the congregation to a performance of “Baby Jesus is Born Tonight”.
School Council have organised a Christmas Jumper Day on Wednesday 17th December. The idea is that the children replace their school jumper with a Christmas jumper for the day.
This is a nationwide initiative with all proceeds going to Save the Children.

Canon Leanne visited the school today and did a wonderful assembly on the season of Advent and how we can shine as lights in the world.

Yesterday the whole school were joined by Rob and Johnny from Reptile Life. Every child from Nursery to Year 6 had the opportunity to learn about the habitats of a wide range of animals including Charlotte, a Chilean rose tarantula, Dave the royal python, Walter the Burmese python) and a barn owl named Dexter. Children were also able to handle the animals.
Here are some comments from Class 4,
“I really enjoyed this animal project! Most of us got to hold a whole python that was 3.4m long which is amazing!”
“I liked seeing the animals, the python was 3.4ms long. Charlotte was a tarantula; they can live until they are 15 or 16, and male tarantulas can only live until they are 5 or 6! Thank you Rob and Johnny for letting us hold and stroke the animals!”
“I really enjoyed today, I learnt new facts and got to be close up to wild animals. My favourite animal was the the tenrec, they are adorable.”
