Autumn 2, Week 1

Stars of the week: Joseph and Ramiah

This week, children have talked about Bonfire Night and how we celebrate. We have made beautiful pieces of work using black card, paint, glitter and lollipop sticks to create the effect of fireworks. Everyone did a great job, but these children had particular focus and have produced the beautiful artwork shown below.

In Phonics this week, we have learned the sounds ff, ll, ss and j.

Next week, we’ll learn v, w, x and y.

Our role play corner has been transformed into the city of London. Children have had fun dressing as tourists/pedestrians and exploring the city with their cameras and oyster cards!

In RE we have discussed the joy that a new baby can bring to a family. The children have loved sharing their stories of their own little brothers and sisters. We will soon be learning about the Nativity story and the birth of baby Jesus.

In Mathematics, we have been developing our counting with one to one correspondence, and finding the matching numerals.

In Literacy, we have been developing our ability to write CVC words and working on our letter formation. Next week we will be writing labels for different landmarks in London.

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Hardy
