Autumn 2, Week 2

Stars of the Week: everyone!

This week every one had their eyes tested and their photos taken and everyone behaved beautiful throughout post procedures! We believe everyone deserves to be a star this week for how they handled both of these events.

This week in Mathematics we’ve thought about one more and one less. Often children are much more confident to answer ‘one more’ questions than one less. You can ask these questions at home and use your fingers to model, for example: what is one less than 5? and model one finger going down. Next week this will lead us into addition and subtraction by 1.

In Phonics, we’ve learnt v, w, x and y.

Next week we’ll learn z, qu, ch and look at how we add s at the end of words to signify a plural.

We’ve decorated paper plate divas to celebrate Divali, and designed our own poppies to celebrate Remembrance Day. There are home made knitted poppies for sale that you can buy in the office!

Next week we will begin to learn all about the Nativity, and even start preparing for our class Christmas play.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Miss Hardy
